FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arista Partners With
ACP Bringing To Market One Of The First Truly Affordable Industrial
Thin Client Computers, the HMI EXPRESS
The new HMI
EXPRESS with its compact design provides less maintenance, minimum
down-time and less configuration in any environment.
FREMONT, CA - November 15, 2004 -
Arista Corporation, a leading industrial computer solutions provider
and system integrator along with Automation Control Products (ACP) has
developed the first truly affordable industrial Thin Clint family, the
HMI EXPRESS. The ACP Enabled Thin Client HMI EXPRESS includes both
screen-less brick sized mountable clients and industrial panel Thin
Client computers with 6.4, 8.4, 10.4, 12.1 and 15 inch LCD displays.
The HMI EXPRESS can be used for various applications such as
automotive manufacturing, building material processing, chemical
processing, food and beverage processing and packaging, metals
processing, oil and gas refinement, transportation and shipping,
machine control, and utility management.
Thin Client computers operate on a
mainframe paradigm. All instructions and sessions come directly from a
central, secure server. Each thin client realizes its own NT session
and operates independently from the other thin clients. With no moving
parts, the HMI EXPRESS family is ideal for harsh environments where
the user needs the benefits of a Thin Client and a standard Windows
user interface, but doesn't want the added expense of a special
enclosure. There is no loss of data if a local thin client gets
damaged or has a local power failure. Thus providing the client lower
cost, less maintenance, minimum down-time and less configuration when
compared to a traditional PC system.
The HMI EXPRESS family has a 300 MHz
National Semiconductor Geode processor and provides the ability to run
any Thin Client application. The Thin Clients also come standard with
one RS-485 and two or three RS-232 serial ports. The secure screw-in
power supply connector assures that the unit will not come unplugged,
even if mounted upside down or in an area of high vibration. The low
power requirements and voltages (5 and 12 DC) simplify hazardous area
compliance. Operating temperatures range from 32 degrees to 122
degrees Fahrenheit, (0 to 50 degrees Celsius).
"The compact designed ACP-Enabled
HMI EXPRESS provides our clients with a lower operating cost, less
maintenance time, minimum down-time and requires less configuration
than traditional Thin Clients," said Stewart Austin, director of
sales for Arista Corporation. "Arista with ACP has truly offered
the first affordable industrial Thin Client family, the HMI
EXPRESS."
